@Nemos Janitor asked me to take a photo of marine ich. Unfortunately I have not yet managed to find a marine specimen, however I did find a freshwater fish (black neon tetra) that suffered from the parasite Ichthyophthirius multifiliis. Also called ich or white spot, this parasite is hard to eradicate once it takes hold of your aquarium.
As I am no biologist I cannot say that this species identification is correct, however I am 99.9% confident these are the Ichthyophthirius sp. protozoa.
