Hi Guys

Finally moved into new house, now I have the space for new tank.

Tank specs:
1500 X 600 x 600
Sump
1200 x 450 x 450 (3 chamber)

Just need some advise on skimmers, I currently have a Reeftek Ts1 which i know is way to small for that size tank. So my question is, could i run the Ts1 + Ts2 , hence then have skimming volume of 800l/h?

Looking fwd to here your imput ?

Kind regards

I had the same size DT, I used the Reef Octopus Bubble Blaster 3000-int, it worked great! Really a skimmer worth the money. Looking forward to the pics

Whats size is your first chamber Rossi, as looks like i am going for the same Skimmer

I have a similar size tank and run the Reef Octo Extreme 160 and am very happy with it. Not a big fan of the TS range of skimmers, they seem to be hit and miss and mine were always a miss :(

I recommend the Tunze DOC Range, even a 9410 will skimm this tank just fine.

I have the same size DT and ordered a 9415 from @Anita , just because I want it to overskimm a bit ;-) I am replacing my Reef Octo 160XS with this.

You not happy with the Reef Octo?

The air intake is just too noisy in the PSK-600 pump, it worked better when I put a SKIMZ silencer on it but still too much for me.

After getting TUNZE flow pumps I am completely convinced of their brand, especially since they invented the skimmer... somewhere in the 60's.

with regards to return pumps and circulation pumps, what should the returm pumps circulation rate be as well as the circulation/vibration pumps?

The DT flow depends on what you are gonna kepp coral wise. I have considered 2x 6095's enough for my 1500x600x600

The return i think its nice to have around 6 to 8x your total volume, again more being better if you have a sps only tank for instance. If you are looking for something quiet and energy efficient TUNZE make some nice return pumps that are dead quiet. The Waveline DC series pumps are pretty nice too, nice external controller too. I am running a DC-5000 currently.
