No wait, i see what your asking me now.
I built one unit that has 2 x balasts, 2 x ignitors, and 2 x caps.
Each set of components on its own switch.
So when i put the light on the other balast, cap and ignitor that cap also started to smoke.
So it looks like the caps we got are not the writh ones.
They are electrical motor starting caps.

What bulbs would you say must i use?Looks good so far
The caps i got now is Afcap, 45microF +- 10%, 250v ~ 50hz, -25/+85deg celcius

Great news PPL
Hi there ppl.
I just got great news this morning.
The ppl we got the MH bulbs from has sent me a new bulb cos the other one was so skew.
JeeeHaaa.
And ive also tested my one bulb ive got still with the new caps i baught yesterday.
And it starts up great and looks good man.
Heres some crapy cell phone pics. hehe
My reflectors from the back.
When i turned the light off. Nice and HOT. hehe
And a full tank shot with just one bulb so far.

That looks awesome man with two bulbs your tank is going to be really well covered,and bright
bring on the sps good thing you went 250w as your tank is deep so 150w wouldnt have done justice.

Well ill have a look around what else we can get. But for now these bulbs must do the job.

.Oh yes some decent brands can give you over a year and a half of life easily with good output.Unfortunately I dont know anybody that does powder coating,try getting it galv if you can....dont forget to seal the ends.

Hi there PPL.
Haven’t posted in a while.
Last time i mos told you the MH bulb broke when i tried to put it in.
Then when contacted the seller and told him what happened.
They said no problem they will ship a new bulb.
They did that and the bulb arrived. When we opened the bulb was already broken.
So jy, packaging ton that great.
Contacted them again, thinking that they wont ship another bulb.
But guess what...the replacement bulb is on its way.
So ja, seems like the build quality and shipment packaging isn’t that great but service is brilliant.
So ja, now ive also been buz building another wooden frame for 2 x T5 54w to supplement my MH`s.
And here`s some pics.
I know not great. But seems like i did this at 23:00 - 00:30 it was a bit late to get my normal cam for the pics.

I do have 4mm tempered glass on the lamps
haha. jip.looks good man.. We posted at the same time
ja i used IE7 but it gave me problems uploading pics so i downloaded fire fox.
I still have to sand down the ruff edges and also router the edges and stain and varnish so ja.
Im just testing now and waiting for my other MH bulb to arrive then ill do all that.
