Butcherman's 4ft tank

Which Tunze pump is that....6045 Nanostream?
Very nice pump to have. I have 2 of them in my 4ft and they strong enough.

Your tank is looking awesome

some stupid q`s

Hi butcher

Sorry for asking this but what is a ATS
And how are you going to make a top up unit.
Idd like to see your idea about it.

Id like to do something the same.

Ive just started my tank on the 13th so still have to wait a while.
Dont have lights yet but already have a great idee for building my own controlle box for swithing on the atinics at 5 and the white lights at 5:30.

Also thinking about modifing a pc UPS with biger batteries for backup.
And also thinking about making my very own chiller unit.
But theres still alot of thinking to go into that.

Hi CW no stupid questions here
- ATS - Algea turf srubber (we use it to lower Nitrates and Phospates)
- i used a top up unit i bought from Idol Marine (its a pump and a float switch) there are pics of it on previous pages or here is where i built it DIY RO top up tank - Marine Aquariums of South Africa

There are lots of ideas on MASA. If you dont know about something Just start a new thread and someone will help you out.

Thanks mudshark, but the red marco has dieing off and is so to say gone, not sure why but might be cause i have made a few changes to the tank (stronger ruturn, tunze flow pump and controller, increaded water changes, etc) But i figure there's alot more space for corals now.

Me likes your old scapping, what does it look like now? Also is the 6105 not causing problems with substrate, powerful pumps.

Thanks Slagter, This pincushion i managed to save from one that i had bought. It was a large one which went south fast. So i had to frag it, managed to get 2 tiny pieces, this piece was no bigger than my small finger's nail.

I now have 2 of these in the tank and they are doing great.

Hi Butcherman.

One Q.

How do you do fraging?
And when do you do it?
Only to try and save a coral or what?
