Bud a wrasse is a predator. It hunts all live food. So say good buy to all invertebrates.

Oh and the wrasse needs to be a big fella to worry a teddy crab.

Tip Never put a wrasse in a reef tank. You will regret if you do.

Hi guys not much happening at the moment, aipatasia has dissapeared:1:. I added 2 hermit crabs over the weekend:whistling: and 3 small pices of live rock which had a one or two mushrooms on them. Thanks megalodon :thumbup:!

im working on it, but he has taken to his pcv pipe very nicely even moved some sand into it and when i feed him he takes the food inside. he also wanders around at night when the lights go out. He dont like the lights at all
 
Tank has been running for about 9 weeks now. so far it has the two hermits in it.
the paramters are as follows:
NH3 =0
NO2 =0
NO3 = 5
PH = 8.3
KH = 7
TEMP = 24.5 C
PO2 = UNDETECTABLE

I think the tank is now finished cycling and i can slow start adding a fish every comple of weeks. i was thinking about getting a pair of perculas first off.

The only problem i have is with the substrate. i keep getting mini sand storms comming up from the substrate and covering the LR in argonite.
Flow consistes of SEIO Prop 1500 5800l/h
Sunsun 3000l/h
Seio 320 1200l/h
Return pump is 1500l/h

Is this to much flow?
My plan is to keep mainly softies with afew lps in the tank.

Quick update
I got the fish 2 fish on friday from idol marine
the tank ahs still got alot of hair algae from the sandstoms but those have been sorted out. replaced the 5400l/h pump with 2400l/h.

Wow looking good! I can see you already have a nice selection of corals gowing on the rocks.

thanks, just working on the algae now, that came with the LR that the corals came on.

the skimmer (tunze 9010) is working great get about 100ml dark brown skimmate everday or so, and the ATS also comming along nicely.

Will try post some pics tomorrow or monday.
 
Thank's for posting,skimmer working nicely now.Are you running any carbon to polish up the water.You will have to experiment with the flow.
 
yes the skimmer is going alog nicely. I have got purigen in the sump to polish the water.

Just a question. how would one go aboout removing the muchrooms from there current LR pieces and put them on other LR?
the mushrooms i got for free cam with some nice algea and if i can move the mushrooms i can cook the LR with the algae on it.

Cut the mushroom stem close to the rock as possible.Place shroom on another rock,place a small piece of sack over the mushroom.Gently use a rubberband to secure sack over the shroom,so the shroom does not float away.Place in low flow area.Shroom should attach in 2 weeks.Note,there are other ways to do this as well.
 
A thin piece of nylon sack,so light can penetrate through.Those white one's that potatoes are packed in should be fine.Wash thoroughly before applying.
