Great thing is, you only need one controller for every 10 "hops"... @Zandy.
Just make sure you order the connecting cables with the units!

Could you give a rough breakdown of the different units coverage for us up to that 510W beast.
 
85 Watt = 6600 Size:22*22*7cm. 1.68KG
170 Watt = 13000 Size:37*22*7cm. 2.98KG
255 Watt = 19500 Size:53*22*7cm. 4.30KG
340 Watt = 26000 Size:37*37*7cm. 5.26KG
510 Watt = 38900 Size:53*37*7cm. 7.24KG

if you look at my thread i need to cover a 500x1000x600h area and 350x1000x600h area
 
@Andre@ReefAquatics...what size area will the 170watt unit cover? does it come with the controller for that price?will it cover a 1,2m by 60cm wide tank? or will 2 x 85watt units be better?

How i see it is that 2x 85w units will be better as you will have a more even spread.

By using 2x 85w units, you can easily cover (30cm|85w unit|60cm|85w unit|30cm)

With the double unit, the clusters are closer together so it might not give the spread needed for t 1.2 metres but the penetration of the light will be deeper. (50cm|170w unit|50cm)

Spot on @Nur, however on a 1.2m for SPS I would go 3 units. But the nice part is you can add one at a later stage :)

The 170W I would recommend for wider tanks, like 80-85cm.

Hi Reefers, firstly our apologies for those that have already paid and waiting so long for your units.

Reasons being us increasing our order and our supplier waiting on components for the 170W units.

The good news is that they left today and should be by us early next next. I will personally deliver to my irate customers. Again our apologies ...
 
Really wish you had told me about these units when we had a chat about your units a week ago...:banghead: Too late now, gonna DIY a set...
