OK so this is perhaps a bit early to start a thread on this tank because it will only see water in 3 months (still have to order tank, and moving, etc etc.).
But here we go anyway ! :p

Tank dimensions: 1250x600(h)x700(w) and with water level at 500, 10mm glass with skinny overflow by idol marine
Sump will be a standard 4ft: 1250x450x450 with 3 chambers and ATO chamber by idol marine
Tank will sit on a 50x50mm sqr tubing stand by idol marine.
Lighting: Not to fancy for now, just a 4x54w t5 pendant.
Skimmer will be a bubble blaster 5000 internal skimmer.
Will be using SAGA ATO unit.
Dsb big as possible after skimmer is fitted.

OK, for flow i will be using 2x vortech mp40w for a wave motion, similar to this:

As soon i get some of the equipment and my new camera i will start posting acouple of pictures.

I'm assuming this is going to be a FOWLR with butterflyfish?

That video is terrible, makes my head go funny. :p

Dean, it is not the video that makes your head go funny.
It is the Whiskey you are drinking all the time, to keep yourself warm over there in your safe and freaking cold place.

And here is my proposed stocking list

Nice idea. But. Why use such an expensive wave machine for a fish only tank. The lack of corals just don't do the wave justice. If you understand what I mean.

Yeah, well this tank wont be a FO tank forever and wont stay the same size, if you know what i mean :p
And using them just gives the tank that clean uncluttered feel !

I don't like the bannerfish, they look ugly to me :p

Flame angel would be good, would break up all the yellow from the butterflies.

Now....about those triggers..... :whistling:

I agree but it will still look cool when the fish sway side to side because of the currents produced from the vortecs and not to mention the added benefits like more healthier fish etc from swimming against these currents:p

i think the nicest butterflys are chaetodon=burgessi
Declivis
Daedalma
Aya
Guyanensis
Mitratus
Smithi
Flavocoronatus
Tinkeri
I am thinking of the daedalma for my tank

The butterflies in my list is all the "easy to keep" specimens. That was the reason for the selection, once they are doinf well and thriving i can look at some more variety

Nice list of butterflies singularity....but i would rather go for the less common onse...like the those yuri mentioned

Tinkeri...is a must!

Nice thing about the ones in you original list is that 3 of them can be caught locally by a mate and sent up to you, makes things a bit less expensive

Yip very pretty fish

Aslo like the Pakistani Butterfly

Deff the tinkery....the Pakistani is pretty cool....but a bit to common for my taste.
They are very easy to switch from live food to flakes...makes it a good fish
