Hey everyone,

So been thinking about some upgrades for my boyu, I've already changed the whole filtration at the back and done the lighting upgrade. I've had the 3 globes in now for about 6 months, so going to replace with new ones. At the moment I've got those combination tubes, so one side of the tube is white and the other blue. I was thinking of replacing the tubes with one that is the combination white-blue tube, then one that is just white and then one that is just blue. That way I can turn the tube that is just blue on an hour before and an hour after the main lights come on. Anyone think this is a good idea? The other thing I need to decide on is the kelvin rating of the white tube, it comes in 6500K or 7200K.

Also I've heard about the other protein skimmer that can be purchased, the wg-310. What skimmer does the standard TL-550 come with?

You sure. Just by the way ZeroCool the boyu factory warehouse opened right in my area by edenvale and they are selling direct to the public. Way cheaper than most LFS prices...

Thats awesome...saving some moola...

I think the place is called contract marketing, but after comparing there prices with other LFS that stock the same products, they really aren't that much cheaper. Much better to buy stuff from a LFS that can give good advice as these guys really dont know much about marines...

Why do you want to bring the blue on an extra hour? The wattage is so low, just leave all your lights on for an extra hour it wont cost much extra on your eskom bill.
