Corals looks cool!!

pitty about those frag plugs....i always cut mine off....curse the person who invented them....

Keep up the good work.

Yeah, didn’t even think about it. But these are pretty common coral and my plan it to test these for a few months, then swap them for some more rare and interesting corals like a Walt Disney acro.

Sell these once they’ve grown out. But will mess around with these for colour etc.

Shopping list so I don’t forget.

Purple plating montipora
Red plating montipora
Trying to graft these two together

Green pocillopora
Pink pocillopora
Orange digitata
Green digitata
Purple polyp green birds nest

3 unknown - my best guess is:
Some kind of Blue tip millepora
Some kind of green pink tip acropora
Another think acro, in the best shape tints on green and something else.

Got two cleaner shrimps this weekend. One yesterday (It dyed over night) and I replaced him. Worried about the replacement, he looks frozen (like in shock) not chasing food etc. I’ve had plenty shrimps haven’t found them difficult before??

Best guess are 1. Salinity difference was big and in shock. 2. Current in the tank? 3. Two clowns have become territorial already.

There is a crab hitchhiker that seems to be fine.

How did you introduce the shrimp? Drip it before. Hw did you Acclimatise them?

Been a while, so may have rushed it. Probably 15min temp and then once or twice pour some water in. Do you think it’s as simple as rushing the acclimatization?
It is possible yes as shrimps are sensitive to that. I think somewhere there is a rule of thumb of how long to drip certain livestock.

Bought a few more inmates yesterday.

2x metallic blue leg hermits
Clown / Ocro goby
Green emerald crab
anemone crab (he is beautiful)
Cleaner shrimp
fire shrimp (both shrimps eating and looking much better)
2x Nassarius snals (burried themselves in my pink fiji substrate, can just see trunk sticking out)
2x Cerith snails

Can't find the acro goby since putting him in but I'm sure he has found a spot to hide out.

Nice...IMO its a good thing that the Acro goby is missing....you will hate him once your corals grow and look stunning...the buggers tend to sit their little fat arses on your prize pieces killing the tissue off....some also develop a tatse for SpS polyps.....just my 2c.

Did read a few reviews that gave them a bad rep, initially wanted 2 until I saw they spawn and lay eggs on the SPS (killing it). Actually the first few spots I looked were netween the SPS. Will have a better look tonight.

I see alot of people run these kind of settings and dont keep a constant intensity. Maybe something to look at
