Got myself a tds meter. But what should be the reading of my RO water ?

aanything below 10 is fine, but ideally 0
thanks and when you get to 10 what is this indicating about the RO unit ?
What type of unit do you have and do you use di resin?
I have a waterboy unit (sure you don't get them in the UK)
Measurement is 3.
3 is fine
If you are running an Ro filter with DI resin cartridge then the only tds you want is zero, how old is the membrane and DI?
6 months both
Change the DI granules and i think you will see 0TDS
Thanks will do
Is the reading straight from the RO pipe? Mine used to read 3 until I realised it's actually 0 until I put it in the container that I used. The it becomes 3.
6 months is time for a DI resin AND pre-filter replacement. Best to replace those as regularly as possible (3 months if used often) in order to ensure you keep a good flow rate out of the RO unit and also to protect your membrane. Membrane replacement is generally recommended every 3 years.
In small container from my RO barrel
Thanks for the heads up, never knew this
Just to add, you should look to get some inline taps to keep the membrane wet, when you turn the mains off, this will prolong it's life
How do I do this ?
You buy inline taps, fit them very simply into your inlet, waste and good water, then switch them shut when you have finished running off your R/O
OK, Basically leaving everything wet
Got to agree........ DI RESIN Should polish every last thing out.
0 if not time to change the filters... and resin.
Replaced resin, now 0
