Questions.
Does one have the top of the sump closed or not.
Is the plumbing supported in any way in the sump, if so how do the pro's do it. Or is it just rigid

Mine and most guys are open, you could close it though if you like

Yeah but if you close it with fans as the only opening, you should still have the same gas exchange but less evaporation

Not really, if you close it the heat will build up and you will get other issues as well as increased evaporation

Just make sure that if your return pumps goes off (powercuts etc) that the water that syphons back, does not overflow your sump

Forgot to add, water in sump must me low enough to hold water that syphons back to your sump

Okay Here are three views with dimensions. The sump will be below display. DSB 150mm thus leave a 150mm height for over flow to return side. Comments please.

Wow, that is a mean sump ! Nice and deep
