Mine is now starting to produce some decent skimmate - just a little bit slow still - produced about 2.5 cm (from the bottom of the cup) in +-5 days.... Color - dark green/brown'ish.... Will post pics soon...

Sorry about the 2nd photo - there was some salt creep/build-up and I did not have the time early this morning (when I took the photo's), to clean it off... You should be able to make out the skimmate level, about a third from the bottom....
The skimmate that THIS little "crappy" skimmer produces is amazingly dark and stinky. Even though it is set to run "wet".... This skimmate is from about 2 days ago from when I last cleaned it.

I still have to see what the verdict is on the TS2.... I have played around with the "water levels" a little bit more - and currently the skimmer is skimming a little bit better (getting more skimmate a little bit quicker) - this is after it started skimmer for the 1st time, about 5 days ago.

Internal or external? The external are absolute dynamite have never used the internal [reeftek] but folk seem very happy with them.

Alright thought i would post it here aswell the comparison of the Reef Octo after all the mods and tha ATI BM. Both of the skimmers had collected for 4 days and the BM runs slightly wetter than the Octo.

Its the air inlet and the batting acts as an air filter, you will be surprised how dirty it gets.

Yeah, the 2 air inlets go into the bottom of that pipe. ATI call it the snorkel.
