ScubaLover's - 5 Sided 4500L

I will put in a DB board for the sump connections.
Look into the legal requirements on a DB Box. If your DB box will be hard wired to the household box, then it cannot be under the tank. There is a minimal distance from the floor requirement. However, if your DB box got a lead coming out, plugging into a wall socket point, then the same requirement does not apply.

was busy looking at different overflows now. What type would you suggest
Here Adriaan would be able to help out. I think he will go with a long skinny overflow against the wall.

Yeah will read up about that. I actually didnt even think of the legal crap behind it. Thanks man

So I have a new design. I am still waiting on quotes for the top design and will be requesting quotes for this build too.

The reason for change is I have an indoor garden that has the bricked stand already waiting for the tank. All that needs to be done with regards to renovations is to build a slab and break some of the inside pillar away to line up with the outside pillar. And to create the area for the sump entrance.
By the way the garden was removed yesterday.

Very interesting design with the pillar inside the tank. It will be fiberglassed, waterproofed and reef safe. The reason why the pillar is inside the tank is because it is holding up a firewall. But still think it will look awesome. With teh pillar being built into the aquascape.

This tank seems to be a few hundred litres bigger so its always better.

Tank will be seem from 3 different room: Dining room, Lounge and Passage. (will be moving the lounge to another room that has a fireplace. This way we use the fireplace more often as the TV is there and soon to be tank)
There will also be smaller viewing areas from the passage and the lounge.

The sump will be accessible from one side only if possible, with ventilation on the other sides.

I won't be building the tank myself any longer as it is a pretty big project for someone who has never stuck 2 pieces of glass together before. And the risk is too high.

Been recieving quotes from tank builders and hopefully will be getting the build moving forward.

With regards to lighting I have moved away from LED's and looking at getting some ATI T5 units and maybe one or 2 metal halide.
Ive been looking into my sump and decided to root the sump in another location around the house. Perhaps in my fish storage room or in a small basement under the one room. I think a sump room for this size tank would be the best option.

I got myself ATI T5 sunpower 6 x 80W unit. For existing 6 foot tank. And all I have to say is it is absolutely incredible. It just makes the tank pop completely.

Without a doubt I will be doing T5's on the new build. Extremenly happy and my corals are very satisfied and enjoying the new lights.

Nice unit. A good set of T5's will run anything, even though I run LED I still prefer T5's.

Renovations started yesterday.

Breaking some walls down of the stand to build bigger and take out teh concrete from the inside to allow space for the close loop system.
Also breaking down the walls of a small room that is in close proximity to the tank to make into the sump room. The walls will be rebuilt but increasing tht room size
