Reeftek TS2 Skimmer

what is the height on the ts2 guys?

11 days? ............ time to clean the neck out and start from there again all the gunge that has built up in the neck will impede the performance of the skimmer.

Gotta clean that neck every 3 or 4 days (or at least once a week) for optimum performance Rod :D

You are right of course. The foam cup was cleaned on Saturday. I then lowered the level to see if I could get a "drier" skimmate.

Rod that looks good, cant really ask for darker than that !

Fantastic Rod, looks like it’s purring like a kitten.
Yes I am well pleased with it. I see on another thread: That the output has dropped, my own TS-2 output has dropped after two weeks of skimming. I expect that having done all the hard work it will settle down to normal.

guys my ts1 , the skimmate is coffee brown in color , i raised the skimmer itself up with the overflow pipe at its minimum. shud i raise the skimmer more ???

rod , sorry for thread hijack

What is the purpose of the black round sponges that come with the Reeftek Skimmers?

Also I have read about the O-Ring mod one can do on the TS2. Does this also apply to the TS3?

To me the sponge is there to calm the water as it comes out of the overflow pipe, without the sponge I get a lot of splashing and noise.

The o-ring mod is only for the Reef Octopus skimmers.

Sorry guys the sponge is there to put around the outlet and will help cut down on the micro bubbles escaping from the skimmer. The o ring mod may also be for the reeftek if they are using the octo pumps, i dont know what the venturi looks like on the RT's. It generally goes between the pump and venturi.

OK I started putting it all together last night.

My TS3 came with the Reef octopus pumps so I did not put the O-Ring on the Venturi as I can see it does block the hole a lot.

One question, maybe stupid - Does one have to make holes in the covers of the Reef Octopus pumps for the airline tube for the venturi. I don't want to "damage" the pumps in case of a warranty claim.

The only other option as I see it is to run the pumps without the covers. Is this correct?

Thanks,
Clinton

Yip Clinton leave the covers off. They come packed in the box from the factory as a complete pump but you don't use them.
