Don't bother adjusting the skimmer then, they barely do anything in freshwater and will only operate properly at normal salinity levels. My advice for now, forget about the skimmer until your water is ready to accept livestock.still busy adding salt too
No, not absolutely necessary. Wait until your salinity is correct and stable otherwise you are going to be forever trying to adjust the skimmer and it's just going to frustrate you because it will function differently at different salinity levels. But in the meantime raise the skimmer. Best of luck with your tank.I was under the impression the skimmer was neccessary for the cycle.
