A VERY WARM WELCOME to MASA, Eddie! Great to have you on-board! Tank is looking great so far! VERY GOOD SKIMMER there, mate!

Just one suggestion - the light you have is awesome, but a WEE BIT too high, and will be too concentrated if you let it drop. I would want to suggest to rather (for future purposes) try and get another one of those metal halides!

Good luck with the patience you must have, to wait the cycle out!

Enjoy your journey, and please ask as many questions as it takes for you to become the BEST reefer, you can be!

Cheers, tanks for the welcome guys.
Jacques, I do have a second similar light unit, was not sure if it would be to much light. Will install it as well.
Ross, it is a bit of a diy project. Have included this pic.

Hi Eddie - I just noticed (sorry - mistake - speed reading) that it is a 250 watt light. No wonder it is indeed so bright.

So - to rephrase my comment - DEPENDING WHAT YOU WANT TO KEEP, you might need to lower the lighting fitting, and IF you lower it, you might want to / need to add another light, as the light would become to concentrated and you would lose a certain section (on both sides of the tank) where you will NOT be able to place decent light loving corals.....

Please comment on this?

Welcome to MASA!!

Nice skimmer, I almost got the same one.

I'm sure you can't wait to put fish in the tank!? Well, enjoy the cycle period while it lasts, because when its over, the hole in your wallet will never be the same!!

Welcome to MASA!!
