They rebuilding it for me, which I feel is a much better solution.

Good news, my sump has been rebuilt already.

I'm fetching it and my protein skimmer after work today.

Will finish off the plumbing and hopefully get up and running soon.

Quick question, how long should I wait for PVC glue/cement to dry ? The box I got it in is unreadable

It dries very fast. But best to let it cure overnight to be safe!

is the skimmer not too deep in the water. Water line should be lower.

Is it safe to put Styrafoam under the skimmer to lift it up ? Or will it screw up the water ?

get eggcrate from lighting shop or maizeys.that will work..sagax will break up and float around tank

I have a bit of egg crate left which i was planning on using in my refugium. Will just buy more when I need it, its so expensive though

or you can build a PVC stand with a couple of 50mm pipes and bends...

But air will build up inside, eventually floating the stand. A couple of 10mm holes will prevent it.
