Is this a bumble bee snail? if so, will it murder anything in my tank??:(

And this is my nudi, Bill, he is a dollabella auricularia and he bulldozes long hair algaes but is kinda clumsy

Sorry dude, google it and you will see that it is a bumble bee snail...here is an exctract from a site I found:

'While alluring due to their attractive coloration, Bumble Bee snails (Engina mendicaria) (Pusiostoma mendicaria) are not the best choice for the tropical marine aquarium with a deep sand bed. The reason for this is that Bumble Bee snails are carnivores and will prey on beneficial fauna in the sand bed. There is also some anecdotal evidence that they will feed on zooanthids and polyps. For tanks with a deep sand bed, it is best to include Nassarius snails rather than Bumble Bee snails. In a bare bottom (or shallow sand bed) tank, Bumble Bee snails can be added with caution, although be forewarned that their nocturnal nature means that viewing their attractive shells may be limited to the hours when the aquarist would rather be sleeping.'

oh dear, whats your opinion on what i should do? i have plenty of zoas and a DSB in my sump, do i take him to LFS or keep him around?
 
Personally I would take a close eye to it.
If there is enough for it to feed on, it will leave your Zoe's alone.
I have a Copperband as well as a Foxface and neither of them eat ony of my soft corals and I was warned that they WILL...

Great advice I was given which I will share with you, keep them fed and they will simply eat other food opposed to your corals. It will apply the very same with this guy, as long as there is other food for it, it won't be bothered in eating the Zoe's...

My Wrasse was added because they apparently eat crabs and such like, I hoped mine would eat the teddy crabs but because he get so much food supplied, he just isn't hungry enough to have been bothered with the crab so I ended up making a trap to haul the crab out manually.
 
That looks more like a sea hare than a nudi. Do you have any other pics of it?
 
harharhar, yes it is indeed a type of sea hare of which sea hares are a type of nudi, its a dollabella auricularia and pretty damn huge, it will clear a 1,2M tank of macroalgae in one night, it just keeps on eating!! He's nocturnal and sleeping under the sand at night, looking for a new home for him and will be advertising him soon, he is quite clumsy but eats nori from my hand :thumbup:

He will strip the flesh from your fingers! lol:razz: really though, he is more harmless than a snowball is summer :)
