Hotdog's Maxed Out Reef 650

Pellets seems to have started working slowly for nitrates, this after about 11 days of adding them on 27 Feb (did big wc on 3 March):

You sure its the pellets working? On some of the threads i read some people claim it can take up to 8 weeks for pellets to kick in

I didn’t change anything else, so can only be the pellets? I did add a big spoon of Care Bacter directly into reactor and let it sit for 10 minutes last week to hopefully seed it.
 
@hotdog83 how often do you feed and how much at a time?

I'm trying to figure out a balanced feeding plan
 
@Haffy , I feed once a day in the afternoon, a mix of pellets and either table shrimp, scallop, mussel, mysis, squid or clam. Their staple food is Hikari pellets (Seaweed extreme, Adult and Small pellets) and chopped up table shrimp or scallop, the other more fatty foods I feed max twice a week with pellets.
 
Hmmmm. I pop 2 frozen blocks in the tank every one and half days on average. Not sure if I'm overfeeding or underfeeding

I think only you will know if it is enough or too much. I feed the equivalent of one chopped up table prawn and then probably 2 or 3 teaspoons of pellets per day. I prefer to slightly overfeed and keep the fish fat, as long as you can deal with the excess nutrients. All the food is still gone within 5 minutes.
 
Hi bud, I’ve noticed you added attachments to your pump nozzles. Where would I be able to find these as in my Red Sea my return pump flow is too strong and doesent spread nicely. I have the problem of a high flow sand bed and low flow by the top
Of rocks.
