Hotdog's Maxed Out Reef 650

If it stays constant then that at least it means the export is keeping up with the import. Then waterchanges can bring it down. As the cheato grow a bit then hopefully you can export slightly faster than import. You can also keep the cheato light on 24hours a day for a week or so to give it time to grow faster. And then switch to a reverse cycle.

That is what i did with mine. Now that the cheato is big enough i went to a 14hour reverse cycle.

It seems the chaeto I got from you is keeping up with the nitrate production, stopped nopox completely a week ago, just need chaeto to outperform nitrate production, harvested the reactor and it was quite full, so seems to be working at least as well as nopox, and much safer.

Currently it is on a 24/7 light cycle, will leave it until nitrates get to below 10, but doubt that will happen, have 60 fish now.

Cool, thank you, will do. The ultimate plan is to design an algae scrubber that runs on outside right of tank that is 1m high and 70cm wide or so, but that is longer term.

The sandsifters on the right of the divider seems to be doing their job after a day:

I split it every time I add new fish to make sure they get used to each other without the old fish being able to be aggressive to the new fish.

After a few more fish you maybe will need to look into buying Robyn's old tank?:m01:

But the tank is looking awesome! How about an updated list of current livestock?

Should have kept the 3m monster. It would have been awesome with all those fish

If I had kept that, I probably would not have any tank at this stage, was way too much to handle, and really badly designed by myself.

See you could grab the other one & use the 650 to grow chaeto in

Haha, stop giving me ideas. I'll probably start taking out some fish that grow too large at some point if I see it becomes too much.
