Flame and Golden Angel

It might be ok if you add Aurantia first and wait for it to become established before adding flame, they are much more cryptic and shy than a flame angel, so if you add flame angel first you might find the flame will chase it, aurantia will hide the whole time and not eat enough.

Aurantia is one of least aggressive Centropyge, so best to either have it as first angel or the only angel. A friend of mine’s aurantia took 2 years before it started taking prepared foods, luckily his tank was big enough to supply food for it to survive so long. He only sees it every now and then, it hides a lot.

Thanks for your valued input. Ive done a bit of research as well and also gathered that they are very shy fish. I already have my flame in the tank. going to try add the aurantia and if they dont get along, ill add the flame to my frag tank.
Thanks again for the inpit.

Just make sure you socially acclimate the aurantia in a clear box inside the tank for a few weeks and not just put it in tank, so the flame can get used to it without actually able to get to it. It will also give you an indication of how aggressive the flame might be.

Then after a few weeks when you releae aurantia and flame is still aggressive, see if you can trap flame and put it in the same clear acrylic box inside the tank while the aurantia settles down before releasing it again.

this is a very delicate situation to try handle. watching as I'd like to add one but I've gone as far as to look at building a seperate system linked to my main display for these guys.

they are also prolific nippers of coral so a tricky fish at best
