    Hello guys,
What's the normal volume of water to be evaporated in a day for a 120gals total volume of water including the sump water.
i do top-up of 1 liter a day, is this normal?:( for a 25-30 deg weather temp.

Seems normal. My 500L goes through 50 litres in 5 days.

Let's wait and see what the experts say :)

I think you may need to give more details of your system, in my 1.2m I was topping up about 2l a day - until i put in a scrubber with pc fans blowing on the screens, now I top up 4-5 l a day. But from the looks of things you are about in the right zone.

I would say it depends on what and how it is used in the system. Also temp and humidity plays a big part. The more dry the air, the more space for 'water' to be taken up.
I lose 10 - 15 litres in 24hrs on my 550l setup currently in winter. I have auto top up system with a 25l reservoir. Half of the RO gone every day.

I go through about ten litres per day in winter and half that in summer

LOL Ben - I LOOSE 25 litres of SALTWATER a week, due to my skimmer sucking this out of my tank! And NO - I only REPLACE salt water, once a week - I never do "water changes" ;)

Lucky for me, Ben - I use NSW to replace my saltwater..... My RO water drips CONSTANTLY into my tank. My next project is to get an AUTO TOPUP done ;)

I am JUST about to complete the consolidation of all the electrical wiring around my tank, into one single DB board (distribution board) with trip switches....

i have a auto topup that is not connected jet but i think I'm going to let it run permanently to keep my water level up, just have to keep my salt level right.

**** it's cold cant type right.

I'm just a bit concern on how many liter of water get evaporated before the tank water parameter could be affected, especially the salinity level..etc... i don't have auto top-up so i should be home everyday....Jesus..this hobby tied me at home...

Hi Phyrannus - as long as your SG/salinity does not go past 1.026 - then your lifestock will most likely start to suffer.....

Try and leave the tank, while measuring your SG - "time it" in days, before it reaches 1.026.... then you know how long you will have....

    Hi Ben.
I havent done a water change in the last 2 months. Due to wet skimming at times and salt creep, when I find my SG dropping, I top up with SW.
