Enter the Dragon

I kid you not...

And guess what... A clown has just jumped over the wier gate into the overflow :(

Just when you thought it was safe to get back into the tank....Jaws. There is no doubt ...you have a problem. Chasing food over the weir maybe. ...Hmmm but you switch everything off when you feed. Maybe they feel that they have been treated badly and want some where to sulk. Like you been watching way to much rugby or cricket and neglecting their needs. They cannot throw their toys out the cot so they throw themselves over the weir.:) Strange that they are not leaping out. Far to many going the same way for it to be coincidence. Maybe you should down spec that 36 000l return. :)

Either way , if i were you i would be feeling mildly hurt that they chose isolation than your sterling company.

lol, the clown is my own fault.

Female that I've been keeping in a seperate system for a long time now (Used to be in my sons nano before I broke it down) Anyway figured that my tank was big enough for it to go unnoticed by the pair that's in their at the moment.

That didn't go down too well, the old female didn't take too kindly to the new, YDE coitured babe lookin for a good time. There's been a fair bit of niggle, nothing too boisterous though. That was till tonight. It was handbags at five and the desperate housewife was run outta town..

 So have you decided who the lucky lady will be.

I couldn't let the old gal down like that. The new babe has gotto go. Actually she's happy in her little granny flat (overflow) for the moment, so she can stay there for the time being..

So, onto another issue in the saga of D2. I had to face the reality yesterday that I was losing the war against the Majano. I tried coaxing them onto a piece of rock that I placed on top of them, but I've only managed to coax 3 or so and in the meantime there has been a population explosion. Me thinks they were onto me. I could hear the nervous whispers at night, and the sound of romantic majano melodies after lights out.

Desperate times call for desperate measures... As much as I didn't want to, it had to be done. Besides, some of the colonied were getting a bit too close for comfort. So I dismantled the right side aquascape. Thankfully the majano (About 25) had all colonised on the one piece of rock, a biggish piece granted. So out with the piece of rock, sterilised it and back it a couple of hours later. Changed the scape a bit in the process and fragged my green mille.

What it looks like now.

The offending, now vasected rock is teh one directly behind the YT.

Note the Cyano :(

Sadly I've been neglecting the tank of late. With a whole lot of work pressure, life happening and trying to raise kids who won't turn into delinqents the tank has taken a bit of a back seat.
Another thing I realised this weekend is that it is unofficially 2 years old. 2 years ago I filled it. Unofficial I say cause a whole lot of changes needed to be made, which took another 3 weeks before I really got it going proper. Anyway I took a few other pics for Marzles..

This acro has grown on me

I like the tabling shape it's taking.

The green mille that I fragged on it's new base

And a few more other goodies that quietly just get on with life in the tank..

The acan pictured had to be shucked off the rock, it had started encrusting nicely.

Don't even know how to describe this one. What started out as 2 blasto / acan frags on a piece of rock kinda converged in the middle and has taken on the wierdest growth pattern.

Some more different :) These 2 stags are different pieces that have grown entwined. They have touched in a few places. But instead of burning each other, the one has started encrusting on the other. This is a bad pic and so out of focus, but the circled part is where it is happening..

:lol: Chuckle chuckle. i have a similar zoa colony but mine are red. Well to me anyways.

Interesting unnatural growth patterns with Forced integration :whistling:. Lucky thats not a university or you may have more than handbags flying. :011: I wonder who will overgrow who.:( Keep us posted. This may hold the secret to life in the new republiek:)

now look what youve done ! the clowns have seen your tank and wanna go to durbs for the holidays, i keep on telling them the properties are smaller in ct so they must just get used to it lol.

Geez, been a while...

So the 2 year aniversary of the Dragon been up and running has come and gone with not much fan fare. In all honesty, the tank has been neglected and maintanence has been scare.. pretty much like my time on MASA at the moment.

Won't bore you with the details of my scarcity, but one detail worth mentioning is a 22 hour power outage my tank suffered a couple of months ago. It put a serious strain on the system, and it's not fully recovered yet. That and fluctating parameters (neglect) means, she aint looking like she should.

Anyway a picture speaks a thousand, so here you go.

Nice growth
