Hi guys, we went yesterday to Pringlebay and stopped on the way back at Rooiels.
Finding a dead seal was unusual enough, but two? See the red circle!
Also the fact, that they must have died quite a while ago and it seems, nobody really took notice.

Hi I have a place in pringle bay and over december there where about 25 seals that died, it has been from all the crazy weather and rough seas that have been killing them. Pringle bay beach had a closed beach sign in jan which was the first time we have eva seen that in 18 years, sea's where crazy big.

marcel you should go into forensics! must have stank to high puke stage aaaah

Funny enough, it did not smell at all. No flies or other insects. Weird.

I read an article the other day that says most of these die at the colonies and then we get rough seas or freak waves that wash them off the colonies and the end up on land. Makes sense so I believed it and the decomposition on these two support that theory.
