Those are not as reliable. Get yourself a proper refractometer next time out. Marco from Waterboy got a good special going at the mo.

I did my first water change.
Heres some pics.

No need for water temperature to be exact. Doing 10% with water that is 5degrees C different from display will effect the tank only .5degrees.

The firefish? Firefish are know to jump out of the aquarium when they are stressed, so maybe all the aquascapping stressed it out

Ja it was a firefish gobie.
ja i thin it was stresed cos it took me 2hours to do the scaping.
Im not going to work in the tank like that ever again.

Ill rather do it little at a time. then leave them to chil.

When i picked the fish up from the carpet he was dry already from the fan.
I tried to revive him by keeping his gills in some water flow but nothing man.

His dead now.

you can also get a good quality aqua medic glass hydrometer..
You must make a hood or something to prevent the fishy suicide... It will happen again.. Lil guy just can't deal with the stress

I just ordered myself a refractometer.
So hopefully ill get it tomorrow.

I cant wait.
Then ill know my tanks water will be 100%

Then i need a test kit.
Thats next on the list.

Fed my convicts by hand

Hey ppl

Have a look at this.
If i just keep the nori in my hand and put it in the tank my convicts start eating from my hand.

This is so cool.

Well they say there peasfull on the net.
Can you put lets say one fire shrimp and one normal cleaner shrimp in the same tank?

yes, they preaceful alone... but its no use buying a shrimp only to find its fish food after a day or two... now that'll suck, so post your current stock list and see if the expects think its a good idea having shrimp with your current live stock

I have a Fire and Cleaner Shrimp in my tank and havent had a problem yet. So it has only been a Month but still all good.

1 x medium yellow tang
1 x large fox face
1 x fire gobie
4 x large convict tangs
1 x small convict tang
1 x large mud skipper
1 x black sea urchin

Is a fire shrimp and cleaner shrimp fine with these fish?

Well from my experience they can get quite aggro when older...I had problems with just 1 in my tank, I would hate to see what more than one would do. Plus that many in a 4ft tank is not really all that good an idea.

Ja i hear the same.
Curently there ok in the tank. But im strugeling to get them to eat anything exept green nori.

Just got that frozen folmula two and red marine algea yesterday and i only saw one eat the formula two this morning and it seems they like the green woolworths nori beter that the red marine algea.

What should i do?
Do you think i should give some away?
