Hey guys things are finally tanking shape.
So i decided to start a tank thread and not post in my intro thread any more.

The tank currently as is consists of the following:

DT = 1200mm x 450mm x 450mm +-240l with corner over flow 50mm plumbing
SUMP = std 3ft tank +- 75l
Return pump = 2000l/h (but only about 1600l/p with headloss)
Substrate = Aragamax sugar fine
Lights = 4 x T5 54w light unit
Skimmer = tunze 9010
DSB = play sand
Flow = 1 x SUN SUN 5000l/p
1 x Seio Prop Pump P1500 - 5800l/p
1 x Seio Prop Pump P320 - 1200l/p
Heater = 300w

So far the biggest challenge to deal with on this tank is the high of the sump compartment which is only 600mm.
I'm still playing around with the flow in the tank at the moment (which is about 13000l/p in theory). Also waiting for the dust to settle from the argamax( you can see the dust on the back of the pic).
also looking to build a ATS, upgrade the lights, install a top up system and build a nice hood over the tank.

Hi Butcher,nice start,what are your stocking plans,are you cycling with the lights on?

I'm hopefully going to get some LR Friday afternoon but still trying to figure out the best way to lift the LR off the substrate and let some water flow under it. the aragamax i think was about R950 for both i think i can remember i bought a few things that totaled up to about R2000 so i cant give you an exact price. Why not give Rob or Adriaan a call.

Looking good so far. I would have put the liverock in first that way you could have put it on some egg crate, kept the sand just infront of the rockwork so its basically BB under the rocks so would get some flow under there. Also you would save on Aragonite :p

Why do you say sump is only 600mm high? That seems really high for a sump, I know my sump is only 270mm high and its pretty much perfect highwise i reckon.

Worked some more on the my tank over the last week.

I put some pastic netting to stop anything but water going down the overflow.
