Ashraf's window into the reef

Yeh lying around. :p

Tank looks superb and super clean. Might offer you a job one day. :whistling:

Very well done.

No No, Honestly the tank is not at its best, since its been about 3 weeks since it got a good cleaning. Obvioulsy I keep the front glass clean, but thats it.

Still wanna offer me a job ? LOL

Bud the tank is really good. Well done.

I was admiring and showing the vid and pic's to ADVdiver and he pointed out that some corals (the candy coral) may be starting to bleach a little. Difficult to say as pic's can be deceiving. You will know better as you can see the colouration better. Just an observation to consider. But Yeh looking great.

Nope the one prominent in the last two pic's of post 558.

Maybe it is just the pic. Cant tell.

Oh, one of these. No they are bright yellow and my camera just exagerates it even further. I think they are ok, because they are splitting all the time and all the new heads also look like the parents.

A question ? - If they were falsly "bleached when I bought them, would they reproduce like that ?

No Amalick all is good. It is just the light from the pick. If they are yellow and not a washy white/yellow nothing to worry about. If you have only had them a short while the colour should get stronger in that thriving tank of yours.

Wow Ashraf this tank still amazes me, it's looking really good since I last saw it.

Thanks MistaOrange, I lost my 30cm Blonde Naso a few weeks ago :( due to an internal growth developing on him that I could not cure, which was a great disappointment, hence me not updating my thread.

But I guess time heals all wounds hey.

I remember him & sorry to hear about your loss I know how you feel as my blondie also died not so long ago & still don't know what caused it though. Your tank still looks stunning though:thumbup:

Another Attempt at a powder blue

Dont laugh guys:razz:, but my dream fish has always been a power blue. Over more than a decade I must have murdered :nono:about 8 of them in failed attempts.

My tank has been stable for many months now, with no signs of any deases on all my livestock and good water quality all round, so Ive decided to give it another shot.

I managed to find a nice speciment :thumbup:at Reeflife on Friday last week. He showed no signs of deases and had been at the LFS for two weeks already. He is also eating like a pig.

This is the plan...

1) Keep in QT for 4 weeks.

2) Immediate medication in QT (despite no signs of desease) with half strength myxazin twice a day for 5 days.

3) If there are still not signs of spot after another week (its been 5 weeks at this point) then he will go into my Frag tank, which is plumbed in to my main DT so that he can adjust to the main systems water parameters on his own.

4) As always stress will be kept to an absolute minimum when catching by catching in a plastic bag tied to the wire frame of a net. Once caught he will be dripped in a small container for 1 to 2 hours to adjust as well before introducing into the Frag tank

5) If all goes still goes well after another week (now week 6) he will enter the DT at night with all lights off. No climatization should be necessary. THere will also be mirrors on the front glass of the DT to distract the other inmates the next day when lights come back on.

6) As an interim measure when he is introduced into my dt (i.e for 1 week) I will run UV 24/7 and lift my ORP to 450 so that Ozone can run at a higher level than before.
I will also replace my Carbon similtaneously and run my skimmer wet. After that week I will revert everything back to normal

This is it for me, i'm putting my entire thriving tank at risk for my ultimate fish.

I feel that If I cannot keep a PB then I might as well not bother claiming im an aquarist.

Fingers Crossed. Will take pics as i progress:party:
