how good are leds for a tank that stocks sps,lps soft corals and clams? or are metal halides and t5s still better? if I wanna install LEDS on a 1.5meter tank which model would be best for a coral reef setup?

Hi @AhmedD, wow that's a subject being or have been discussed with many many reefers worldwide. IMO LEDS have evolved over the years and experienced reefers changing over seeing great results. Some reefers still swear by MH, T5 VHO and others disagree, in a nutshell they all work, provided you use the right kit for your LS requirements.

Unboxing the New Arrivals

So customs has surprised us toady and we have received these bad boys today.

I've not managed to properly play with them yet, but so far I'm impressed. Very well constructed unit, extremely solid. The spectral colours looks very promising and the controller deploys comfortable touch sensitive buttons.

I'm not yet sure about PAR/PUR vs efficiency, but they seem packed with potential.

@Visser has kindly offered to do a detailed review for us in the near future.

Wow, that look like a sexy light unit!!! Cant wait to test test it!!!
 
You very slow Visser LOL. Was it me, already on the tank and all buttons test to see if it is working.:tt2: you going to test it and give us feedback.:thumbup:

Lol, yep, cant wait!
Will be doing a nice review with some comparative results to MH's & my other cree led units as well!
