Water in KalkStirrer going Brown

ya ya ya, bunch of comedians aren't you :D

Yes I use it in my tank, perhaps our chemical guys palmerc or midasblenny1 can clarify the suitability of this product for a marine aquarium.

yeah lets see what clintons gotta say.he's gonna have to agree with us ;)

Sorry Mekaeel, cannot agree. IMO if it is pharma grade it is more than suitable for use in aquaria.

One thing I read (and it is true) is that kalkwasser solutions are "self-purifying" meanign that due to their high pH, and also the presences of hydroxide ions, most potential contaminants (whether in kalk or make-up water) will be precipitated out of solution.

Obviously like in Kangas case (i.e. kalk stirrers) the preciptated contaminants can still get into ones system, as opposed to dripping clear kalkwasser.

HA ha damn Clinton you realy know your stuff and now i start telling my mates to use it:)

i had the same problem with my am stirrer and no matter what i used it still went brown, i got the shits and stripped the stirrer down, replaced that pipe that runs up the side and the one way valves and the o ring. i also found that the tube in my peri pump had a small split in it. after that it was all fine again. i thought that it may have been getting air in somehow.
