This is IMACSA 2007

excellent food the fish just dont stop and that is from the first feed ever, they are used to frozen foods and flakes, what is also nice about it is that it does not float on top, the bits sink slowly.

Well organised and Anthony C is a legend.

Now......what to do with my reef wall:001_scry:

We bid a sad farewell to Anthony Calfo today who has left our shores and his headed back home. But he did leave SA shores with very fond memories and I'm sure he will be back.

Travel Safely my friend, it was an honour and privaledge to have met you.

I had the privilege of spending Monday with Anthony Calfo and found out not only is the man incredible reefer, but also an incredible person. Thank you to everyone for the support at IMACSA and making his stay a memorable one, talking to Anthony today he rates SA as one of the top 3 places he has visited and would definitely be keen to visit our shores again. Thanks again to everyone and esp to Anthony for making the conference as special as it was.

hay.....i never got a freebie of food.........!!!!!!
yep, sad that anthony is on his way back to the states, andrew and paula (eco-aquatics) treated him to a safari get away yesterday and my wife and i were lucky enough to join them and spend an incredible afternoon/ evening with this incredible "coral farmer".......he definatley loves south africa as much as we all love him......awesome ambassador for the ornamental trade and a human being we should all learn from.....not just in relation to aquariums, corals and reefs.......but his outlook on life and ability to keep learning and sharing the knowledge gathered..........would be great to have him and christine over again in the near future..........travel safe

 Geez you too. I have a coral menagerie as well.

Mr Calfo... A warmth of character and energy that is rare, if not unique. An incredible weekend that exceded all my expectations. A big thank you also to the sponsors. I felt like a child in a candy store.:p

Paula and I were very fortunate to spend a lot of time with Anthony.
We shared the same room at the hotel for the weekend event, and then the whole day yesterday we took him to Tala Game Reserve where we stayed over and after a bit more sight seeing today took him to the airport at 1pm where we had a light lunch with DragonReef and Alan before he flew off. He is truly a remarkable man, and yip you guessed it, we talked reefs, reefs and more reefs. I feel like I won the lottery or something. lol

You lucky bugger.

My apologies for the brief reply, my friends... I got home about 6 hours ago and I'm a tad travel weary :)

I was to say above all - Kudos! - to all of you that supported this event. It required everyones efforts from the organizers to the vendors and through the attendees. We dearly need each other and y'all did a great job pulling it together!

It will be crucial now for more vendors and more attendees to support the coming events. Only then will you strengthen your hobby by information exchange and good healthy commerce in-country.

I don't think I can adequately than you all for being such gracious hosts... but please be assured that I sincerely had a fantastic time with lifetime memories to carry with me. I look forward to returning to South Africa, my friends.

with kind regards, Anthony

Hi Anthony

Please remember to allocate more time next visit to do some touring. The East London guys would love to accommodate you for a few days. Give us a shout when you are planning your next visit.

ummm well ??? these corals are really strong and sting through gloves!!!!

Yes Henk, thank you very much for that very kind donation. I am sure the attendees were very grateful for the freebie. I liked the look of the food so much I bought another 4 tubs :p

I like to hear that! its a big plesure guys! You actually have to tank Paula and Andrew as they planted the seed of that idea!

Geez... I will say, you have some good looking guys here. How is that? No offense to my fellow American reef keepers, but the hobbyists here in the US are usually much more plain. They're all (or mostly) very nice though... but geez, I may have to amend my stereotypes of reef geeks being mostly bland middle aged men. Now it just looks like all the good looking ones went to SA??! :)
