Version 2 up and running and busy with the cycle process.

Still lots to do but progressing nicely

So where do I begin my story, tank was running and happy as Larry, and then the dread that we all never want.
I had experienced a side seem leak which we managed to get fixed. But one night the nightmare began.

If my memory serves me well, it happened about mid year 2019. I arrived home one night and it was late, received a notification on my phone about an error with my ato. had a look inside my tank as it was lights out and couldn’t see much.

Reset the ato and then as I got closer to the tank, had realised the problem.

My back seem had given way, and I was looking at an empty tank, with fish lying on the sand. I tried to save what I could but most of it was gone.

Decided to strip the whole tank, redo the flooring, and re built the same tank but in 15mm glass.

Thank you aqua concept and Wayne ( may he rip) for the work they put in helping me with the re build and the assistance to strip and remove this monster.

We now have version 2 in place.

So tank was order before lockdown occurred, and was hoping to do what I could during the course of lockdown in preparation for the new tank arrival, but that didn’t happen, with everyone locked away, nothing got done, and the new tank was only put back in place in august 2020. Fill up began in September 2020.

Looking good.

Just close up the left open side during winter. Else heaters will work overtime.

Do you use the louvered roof to let direct sunlight in on the tanks sometimes?

I do indeed but not sure how much actually gets into the tank, with the light hood covering most of the top, and the angle of the sun.

The tank does get afternoon sunlight on the side panel, and I leave that almost like an algae screen for the tangs
