Nice Dr what do you think of the deltec range of skimmer our is octo better??

Nice Ed !!! Just out of interest why do you have your air lines inverted ?

Although maybe very slight that U bend creates a bit of resistence for the pump that is sucking the air. If you put the air line in from the bottom straight up through the holders it would be better ;)
 
this way the airline doesn't clog up with salt, don't think there is any resistance to speak of, still have a skimmer full of air and good skimmate every day.

should actually update that photo, the skimmer sits in it's own pre-sump in the sump (if that makes any sense). so now both my tank flow into this container first, get skimmed before over flowing into the main sump. found that my redox improved after doing this

Yip Ed good idea to do this. Next best thing to having your skimmer fed direct from your overflow is to have a dedicated skimmer compartment where the tank water flows into first.

Thanks guys that was 5 days on the octo - I cleaned it out and have raided the water level about 5mm and I have 1/2 that in 1 day....man that skimmer rocks. All thanks to the help from MASA
