I saw this quite a while ago, novel idea but the noise is a big putoff and I'm sure that little paddle is only going to make little ripples on the surface, I seriously doubt it will have any effect on water movement throughout the tank. I think the chinese ripoffs of the Tunze wavebox will far surpass this.

The conclusion pretty much says it all...

Given the cost, bulkiness, noise, and lack of overall water motion we would not recommend this product for the average reef aquarium.

It is an interesting idea yes. I think its purely for the rippled lighting effect from the waves.
