Return Valve

I have tried it with the airhose all the way to the overflow. Works well, but now it is sucking in air through the air hose. The whole tank is full of bubbles now.

try and do what i did in the pic i posted. i think i used 2x t piece and drilled two holes then linked it up!?!?!?:001_huh:

Gaz, the reason you drilled two holes is because it can, and has happened (to me and I think Mille as well) that a snail finds itself over the hole and the power goes out, rendering the hole shut and the syphon never breaks until all the water is on your lounge floor. The chance of two snails obver both holes are much less.

there we go, galibore read my mind. deep down, really deep down some where in my mind.im pretty sure thats why i drilled 2 holes

just a word on the airline i did the same thing and had algae grow in the pipe rendering it useless.... if you use this option i suggest you service it regularly....

IMO keep it simple. two holes just below the water line = nice and quiet and makes just a bit of surface movement.

In have drilled the 2 holes just below the water surface and it is working great.

Thanks guys

well done.need to do mine aswell

Yeah, gives you peace of mind. One less thing to worry about on your tank.

I had many wet carpets before I learned this simple trick.
