Reaper's Nano tank

If you can, I'd rather do a meter of each of the 14,000k and 20,000k. If you can't, then the 20,000k with your current lights would give better colour, but for coral growth the 14,000k would be better

Ok, woke up this morning to find my nennie went walkies during the night and got a bit chowed up by my one power head. Its dead now... :(

Lucky though it didn't pollute the tank. So now I'm wondering if I could rather get a tube anemone. Do they also go walkies? I assume they can't seeing as its a tube.

The other option is an elegance

Eish sorry to hear that bud.. part of a reef i guess..

Tube anemones do not walk around.

But they can leave their tube and float to another place. Forming over time a new tube. Especially if they dislike the place you put them. Do not "plant" them. Just lay them down where you want them, maybe between some rocks, but do not push against their tubes. Just held them slightly. Can put just the tip of the tube in the sand. It will dig in on its own. If you plant then in the sand you most likely will cause too much pressure against them that they dislike. Only reason why they will get out and try to find another place.

If you buy one without the mucous membrane tube, its not a problem. Just ensure that there are no tears on its body.

between elegance and tube.

The tube is a much more easier animal to keep.

Only thing is there placement. Thereafter they do not care a lot about lights. Very undemanding corals.

had you decided between a Tube or an Elegance?
Or both?

I've had a tube anemone move due to excess water flow, they are a invert after all. I move my bubble tips by using various lighting positions, although they always make the final decision I can kinda get them where I'd like.

Really sorry for your loss, take care of your parameters, one of the main reasons why they move around is because of excess in some/all or a particular parameter, like nitrates/phosphates.

Oh ja, with regards to the water temp, I simply took 2 cpu fans and installed them into a piece of wood I got for my stand. They are positioned over my sump. In your case you could try installing them into the canopy, or get a laptop cooling fan and open your canopy just enough for them to blow onto the water surface. But then you'll probably need an atu, seeing as the evaporation will be high.

Reaper, my temp is also high. I normally keep my canopy lid open to cool down. I don't have any space in the canopy for fans. Will it help if a put a cpu fan opver the sump?

@RiaanP, sorry I'm not a DYI boffin. As far as I understand I must connect the wires to a 12V converter, ike a cellphone charger? So will I be able to connect both fans on such a converter? Or is there other options?
