Hey all.

Just a quick one does anyone know why sometimes quadricolor nenis stop inflating their bubbles on the tenticals ? Iv seen it happen a couple times and when it happens it doesn't seem to affect the neni in a negative way and they continue to grow well but just with out the bubbles inflating ever again. :)

happens when they poop.
They deflate completely, looks like they are dying. Only to look normal the next day.

Lol then the ones I have seen are pooping constantly ;) It never looks like the gonna die. The tenticals are always fully inflated except for the bubbles (bulbs). And they just never come back. But the neni still grows and thrives. It's weird. You get what I'm saying ?

Why they inflate their tentacles is not known. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. I have also found that the same anemone can inflate its bulbs today and not next week.

Mine had bubbles when hunting for food, then looked normal after feeding, but it's a mystery

Yep, same with all my bubble tips. Some came with bubbles, but lost them after couple months. The others, I got without bubbles, & every now & then, they have beautifully inflated bubbles, & the next day, they back to normal again.
Even one had bubbles on one half, & no bubbles on the other half,& stayed like that for weeks on end.
WEIRD indeed!

Yeah it's actually unfortunate because they look awesome when inflated
