Apparently this Phosphate Photometer (made by Hanna) is designed to give lab quality measurements.

Anybody used one of these or can comment on it's accuracy?

Dean, i have been doing regular business with Hanna for a while now...so if you do decide to buy let me know. I will try get them to reconsider price. This device still needs a reagent to get a reading, so it is not a once off cost. For an extra R1000 you can get a single metre that measures Phosphate Nitrite and nitrate. All tests require different reagents.

Cool Andrew. Do you find it accurate? Does it save time? Would you recommend?

Yes I do think it is very accurate. It’s great but I would be far happier if it also read alkalinity and possibly a few other parameters.

Now if only that thing was like a few hundred bucks we'd all have stunning tanks :p

Mekaeel if I remember it was quite a few 000’s I will try find the paper work.

Rory it wouldn’t matter if the test kit was made from pure gold!! It isn’t gonna make anyone's tank stunning. ;)

Very nice Andrew. See you Sunday with my bottle of water....

The Hanna low range PO4 meter can be got here. A little under two grand. Accurate and I certainly wouldn't be without it, I seem to always battle with phosphates.
