Hi guys, what's the experience with using this recipe, it's apparently the same as Nopox and is a combination of vodka, vinegar and RO.

That's been around for many years, I wouldn't say it's the same as NOPOX but it does work well. I used it a few years ago. Do your research on it and start off slowly and measure your parameters as you go along, don't dose blindly or you'll end up with problems. But it does work. :)

Thanks for your reply, much appreciated. I decided to use it as my nitrates shot up to 25. I'm dosing 2ml/100 litres to start with and am monitoring levels closely.

Forgot to add, I'm running GFO, is that going to have any adverse impact on the vinegar/vodka dosing?

PO4 is at 0.07.

To make things easier follow the carbon dosing table. Just google it. It will tell you how much to dose. If i remember correctly you need to increase the dose as you go along. Been years since i did it. Cant remember everything. And yes your gfo can have a impact. Essentially you dosing a carbon source. For it to be effective you need nitrates and phosphates. If your gfo strip the phosphates your carbon dosing will be a waste
