This should be a fun and interesting project. Good luck with it.

You can either buy a smaller pump or you'll have to increase the diameter of the pipework. What sort of overflow do you have from the main tank? Can you show us a pic?

Not sure what you mean by "plugs"?

well, on the tanks on the left? how do you prevent them from draining the tank when the power goes out?

And only if plastic in construction. No exposed metal parts should come into contact with the water. But I think I know which plugs you used. And they were all plastic.

Ok, what you'll need to do is lower the tanks on the left, remove the bath plugs and seal up the holes with a square piece of glass siliconed over the hole. Then drill a new hole at the top of the small tank to receive the water from the main tank. The pipe from the overflow on the main tank needs to be at more of a downward angle going to the smaller tank, that should solve your overfilling problem.

if i do that then the angle of the pipe will be in a less of an angle

and ive already gavanized all my fram work so i not goin to cut it now
but what if from the main tank plug i put a pipe pointing up to the surface of the lining of my water level.....
Will that inprove water flow?
Because my start point in the main tank will be an extra 100mm higher than my exit point

I need to build a LID but is there a certain height that the lights should be above the water
What lights are you going to be using? Generally between 10 and 30 cm's for T5's and MH's, not sure about LED's, I've never used them.

LEDS about 30cm.
