Hi Guys

I have a heteractis anemone and currently have a Oddysy dual T5 light. I know the ideal lighting for these types of anemones are metal halide lights but could I add a quad T5 light to my dual T5 light and would that then be sufficient enough or would that be too much lighting? My tank depth is 700mm

Hi there
What I have found with this. Neni is that it is best suited for mh lighting
But if you opt for t5 the general starting point is 1 watt per liter of tank water for example a 4 ft tank is 250 liters therefore 200 watt should be a good place to start
T5 4 foot tubes Are 54 watt each so a 4 ft quad will put out 216 watt just right
Colour temp is another story try Im for 14k

Hi there .
Yeah I would agree wit that calculation. The only the thing is if it's heteractus magnifica they are a very light hungry neny and Iv seen them never stop moving searching for light in tanks with a quad units and eventually end up on the glass up at the surface of the water because the want more light. So I would defiantly go for that extra quad unit as well as your current lighting at the least
