LEDs are the best lighting to go at the moment, thats without any doubt, Choosing the number and the color of LEDs , First depends on your budget, secondly on what you want to keep,
I can see you want to keep Clam in your tank, remember for keeping a healthy living clam you need the maximum lighting possible for your tank,
I'm sure you understand the difference between CREE and Bridgelux from different advise given above, i would strongly suggest CREE for any LED build (i haven't used bridglux but i believe they are one third of CREE's power)
I like to make provision for future so i like to use maximum lights possible for the tank and adjust depending on my Tank need,
You can put any thing between 14 to 24 CREE LEDs in your tank, going with more gives you an option to use different colors, which brings more colors out of your LEDs, and also running LEDs on lower current, makes the chips lives longer and minimizes the amount of heat generated (you still need at least one fan for your hood )
each meanwell 48P (controller compatible ) can support upto 14LEDs, if you decide to go with more LEDs 2drivers max. is enough for your build,
I recommend using Typhon controller (its not essential for your build , its more for personal convenience ).
I hope i have added a bit to your knowledge about LEDs
