Please document the growth rate of your Monti. I got a few red and green frags and have glued them to my scape next to each other in one particilar spot in the hope that they will eventually fuse. Was wondering about how fast they are supposed to grow?

Electricity sorted?
What caused the voltage in your tank?

Well electrician rocked up here yesterday morning and put his hand straight into the tank before i could even get a word out.... Nothing happened. Tested everything and nothing giving of stray voltage. Looks like the problem had to come from somewhere else. Cable that got wet or something along that line since we had a few drops Saturday and Sunday when i got shocked. Looks like it ended up in the tank and then in me. Im still afraid to touch the water so i look like a ballerina when i first want to touch the water

Bright light and ample calcium supply i have had mine grow up to 2cm a month....also....make 100% sure the two are of the exact same species....else they wont fuse but just kill each other off....sometimes even if they look the same they arnt. i normally take two tiny pieces and glue them up against each other on a plug...just to check compatibility.....

Nope but luckily his hands were clean otherwise his head would have followed

The tank looks great man. Good progress since start up! Nice job on the cover. I fully agree that its one of the most overlooked pieces of hardware that will save you many heartaches. Should be standard on open top tanks by now.

Anyone with some advice for the easier types of sps. I have a few high flow areas and places that frags will meed to be glued to. Those places are the ones with good lighting as well

Maybe look at your digi species, they are pretty easy and look good

Birdsnest will be another option

I like those purely because they are also fast growers
