Lactimar's small ocean

So far so good. Takes a bit of work and again this thing is heavy. 19mm starfire glass. I like the idea of the feet. Their are alot of them so weight will be distributed good. Dont like them sticking out the bottom. Still thinking about a solution for that. Haha with all the feet its quite a mission to get the tank level. If you start fiddling with one all of them are out again

All done. What an awesome tank so far. Very impressed with the build quality especially the tank. Going to play around with the scape infront of the tank on the cardboard till im happy with it. Anyone used stonefix yet? I got some from a friend that was very happy with it. I dont want rocks tumbling everywhere

Id appreciate some feedback and ideas around my scaping. Just quickly put something together. Going to be a lps dominant tank. I Like a nice big sandbed

Looking good. If you find a feet-covering solution please share. I’m also going to be building a white hang-on strip to hide water level at surface, think that’ll round everything off. Three peaks in the scape on right looks epic!

What’s your stocking plans coral wise?
Hey Jaco. Lps dominant tank so torch, frogspawn, octospawn, blastos, acans. Softies. Zoas, gsp, some nice leathers. Purple and green plate. A nennie or two and ill see as i go.

Fish:
Yellow tang
Purple tang or achilles tang
Naso or clown tang
2 snowflake clowns
2 leopard wrasses
1 midas blenny
1 smiths blenny
1 longnose hawkfish
1 clown goby
2 cleaner shrimp
Hermits and snails

Just a quick wish list. Will stock according to its capacity and move stock if they get to large. What angels or butterflies are reef safe?

I was thinking a white strip but dont know where ill be able to get a white strip that will fit the cabinet. Thanks. Thinking about adding more height to one of the two islands.

Once the live stock is in your tank, you won’t even notice those small feet sticking out.
I must add, the panels on my RSM400 go all the way to the bottom, so nothing sticks out

So i need some advice. Sump atm. Inlet then 4 filter socks, skimmer, baffle and then refugium, 2 reactors with carbon and phosgaurd. I used bio cubes on my previous setup with great results. Im open to other methods. Matrix or siporax or marine cube something i saw on Jungle Aquatics

I reckon marine cube has more total surface area than siporax or bio cubes and easier to work with? Any liverock in your sump?

Advantage of bio cubes is that i know the product and it does work. Can hang it in inlet chamber that usually bubbles so no need for airstone then. I cant find alot of info about the marine cube though. The few odds and ends after my scaping is done ill put in the sump. Using most of it in the display

I think the white strip (Perspex is better) is perfect with a cheap led strip inside it to give the bottom that glow effect

remove that rock from the front right and put it on 1 of the islands to make 1 island higher than the other. Otherwise it is looking 100s

some nice leathers.

That there might be a good reason to stay away from the marine pure blocks/cubes, Its not proven whether its available or unavailable aluminium that they leech but they do leech it & leathers are known to sulk with it present. Might not be a good mix if your going to use phosguard & not gfo as that does the same.
Siporax on the other hand bank on some higher silicates.
Seen both come & go with the icp testing i mess with
