Remember to top up water evaporation with RO water only(Seems silly but many have made this mistake
Otherwise you will be raising your Ph and Salinity

Sorry to derail...but do you know if he can get the "LED Hoods"...I know the Boyu Factory offers these tanks either with the "original" or "upgraded" Hoods...
 
i also noticed that my temp was climbing to about 28degrees or higher so i took off the hood but then i dont have lights cause my clips are broken on the hinges. I definitely think that i need to upgrade to t5 lighting but cant find an acceptable bolt on t5 that clips onto a tank of this size. I hardly think at this stage that LED is the wat to go since I will be investing in either a larger cube or a TL550 later on, which is worth investing loads of money into.

I do sometimes run a fan over the surface of the water to cool it down when the temperature starts climbing.
 
Yes...these Tanks overheat bigtime( so small)..LED's is the only way, but...doesn't justify the price tag of a LED Unit..:(...wish I could DIY...:blush:
 
Are you topping up the tank with RO water?
Inverts are quite sesitive to temperature change.
Could also be something funny in your water like copper or something else like that inverts are much more sensitive to this then fish. Do you have any chemical filteration?


There are a lot of really cool little fish you can get for this tank.
