First Microscope Pics

Hi all,

At last I've started taking some pictures with the Microscope I got (second hand) more than a year ago. While I did try it out one weekend after I got it, I do want to examine much more than I have up to now (especially when I get the greenwater, rotifers and clown fry going). Today, I looked at some dried zooplancton (ZoPlan) with each of the 4 different lenses.

To get something in focus on the 100 is really tricky ...

Some more pics...

A "fireworm" (or rather bristleworm of some kind). It's about 2cm long, so not as much magnification:

Don't know what this is, but it was frolicking next to some "detritus":

Salt crystals starting to form as the saltwater between the slides evaporates:

Some algae strand / critter's growth point:

The middle of the three dark dots seems to work the same as a snails mouth, scraping food off surfaces. Of course, this one is only a very small dark dot to the naked eye:

A diatom, I guess:

This one came out beuatifully. It kept wiggling all the appendages, moving around in this way:

... and one showing some other legs and "body parts":

No idea what this is:

Probably a strand of algae of some sort:

Very nice. Are your camera mounted on the microscope?

@Boegie: Yes, it's mounted onto one of the eyepieces and powered via USB.
