You can do that but it really is going to be great and theres a good chance it will leak sooner or later.
Skylights usually come with a flashing that is made to fit them.

I found the sunbed acrylic but woukd like to know why do corals need uv if the uv is supposed to harm corals? I know it brings out there colours but dont people use uv protectors on mh to block uv.

i was thinking of just taking out roof tiles and putting in perspex, then cutting a whole in the ceiling and doing the same, then running reflective material in a square from the roof to the ceiling, then making a reflector box over the tank. is this right or is there a certain way the reflectors must be? il also use rubbers and water proofing roof paint

Mine is done like that and we have had plenty of rain this summer not a leak in site I did seal the edges and have a lip on the Perspex so the rain can't run into the roof.

mine works and was very easy to do.
