Hey all

I thought I had some Clownfish eggs just in a kind of clear fluid attached to a rock wall, they were always being guarded by the smaller of the two clowns and he would waft them with his fins at every chance he had.

Woke up this morning and they have all gone.

Does this mean they have hatched and been eaten or have they been moved somewhere?

Im new to this as u probably can tell

thanks

Probably been eaten! Especially if it is the first attempt. Look at a few of the breeding threads, especially Luckyfish to see the development, time it takes, etc. The eggs become shiny with the eyes reflecting before they hatch.

They won't have been moved, they have more than likely hatched as they hatch overnight. How long have the eggs been there?

they have been there as long as ive had the tank which is 4 days.

the tank is 2nd hand from framily that cant look after it anymore

i dont know how long they have been in the tank before this

Clownfish eggs are hatching at the 8th or 9th night after spawning, depending on species and temperature. The eggs or orange to red at day one and two, depending on broodstock nutrition. From day three tgey turn brown and from day 6 the eyes can be seen. At the last day they turn silver and the eyes are clearly visible.
