I just acquired a acrylic tank and it's got a couple of scratches on the inside some light and some deep scratches. I can use it as is it's in a good condition but I would rather buff out and polish out the scratches before I use the tank. The question I have is what type of polish can I use and where will I get it and If anyone on the forum has done something similar?

Also, theres a couple of videos on youtube about removing scratched from acrylic tanks

Scratches are very easily polished out with water sand paper. Rub the scratch out with 600. Then use 1000, 1200, 1500. After that you can use burnishing compound 3000. You can then use a polishing stick ( pink one) and buff to a high clear finish.

The tank must be dry to use burnishing compound.

The burnishing compound you should be able to get from the motor car section near the car polishes at builders.

The polishing compound is this pink one Polishing Compounds (Meta) . I get mine from THT in Boxburg but builders might have.

It costs about R100.00
