Brent's Cube

Had my daughters birthday this weekend and managed to clean the tank nicely... Nice when the kids enjoy the tank!

Haha, dankie @vleis Visage! I need to do a comparison picture. But things have really started picking up in the last few months.

This was a piece about the size of a two match boxes side by side when Ioved it across from the nano. I removed it a few weeks ago. I had also taken many frags off it over the last year. It ended up around the size of a dinner plate. It was by far the quickest grower, but not the greatest color. So I removed it for more space for the more valuable species...

Another funny thing I've been watching in this system. So in my main tank I have a torch coral. It isn't doing great, but it's not dying. A few months ago I noticed a small anemone looking thing growing on a small perspex plate I have for zoas in the small tank. I thought it was a small bubble tip that budded of from a lager one that I had which just disappeared about 3 months after I got it. I didn't think much of it until I saw this small thing growing on the plate. Now a fewonths later, I've come to realize it's actually a torch coral! It can only have come from the one in the main tank as I don't have any others. This means that the polyp, bud, or whatever other strategy could have been used to asexually reproduce has made its way from the main tank, down into the filter roller, past the skimmer, and back up into the small display! I thought that was quite amazing....

Anyway, here a picture of it...

It's doing well, but I'm keen to place it on the main rock work. Anyone else experienced something similar?

So it's with a heavy heart that I'm shutting this tank down! It's been an awesome ride, but with current opportunities and life changes, I've decided to pack it up!

Wow I've learnt a lot the last few weeks For one... I know why the Durban marine trade is so kak! Cause no one is willing to pay fair prices for anything! Anyway, that's justy rant.

I will start up again at some point, we'll that's the plan. I am already puzzling new builds and ideas for something awesome!

Anyway, here are some parting shots of the empty tank and coral being transferred...
