Will do a water test this afternoon and if all is good transfer the livestock from the other tank. I still need to get the 2 100W Hailea heaters and waiting on the LED components to arrive.

And she is filled, no leaks and cleared up this morning, still waiting on the new LED's, heaters and need to neaten up the cable work. Also need to fill up a bit more.

Looks great; very nice and neat job! I like the location of the tank... TV is overrated and can be so boring, so being able to just turn and look at the tank will be cool!

Yes i like the placing as well coz now we can sit in the TV or dining room and enjoy the tank, now just to stock him up. Should the tank cycle at all again after changing over the livestock. I have a six line wrasse in at the moment but he seems to be fine.
Maybe a quick update on livestock thus far:
Six line wrasse
2 Hammer corals
Pink zoanthids
Pulsing xenia
Lots of critters, brittle stars, tube worms

Quick update. All still alive after transfer. Got my two new heaters over the weekend and neatened up the cables a little bit, not complete yet since I am waiting for my LED light components. Also rather using the SEIO M620 than the JVP 102.

I need some help on the following, the bubbles from my skimmer is making a gassy noise as they come to the surface and there is also a lot more micro bubbles in the display, what can cause this.

Added some new corals over the weekend and also my first sps ever. The gassy bubbles from the skimmer has stopped.

A quick question ons somer critters, I have found several asterina stars in my tank. I am removing them since I know some of the species chow on zoas. I have also found a big hairy grey bristle worm, does he pose any threat to my corals?

I am going to start off with a 5L water change 2 times a month and see how it goes from there, but all in all the tank looks healthy and corals happy. Pics to follow.

I have an idea for a surface skimmer, what i want to do is take some 25mm pvc pipe, one short piece and one longer, and a 90 degree elbow between the two. Then I will connect the short piece to the intake of my skimmer pump and then have the longer piece sit just below the water level of the tank. This way all the skimmers intake water will flow through the piece that sits just below the water surface. Has anyone done something similar?
